Culture, Ethos and the LEK effect
How do you clearly show what it’s like to work at your company?
L.E.K. Consulting needed an employer brand film that translated its reputation into a human, relatable story. While the firm is globally recognised, potential candidates still needed a clear answer to one key question: “Why work here?”
So, we created a film designed to showcase culture, values and career experience—helping L.E.K. attract the right talent through authentic, people-led storytelling.
Although L.E.K. offers strong career progression, early responsibility and a collaborative environment, these strengths were difficult to communicate through traditional recruitment content.
As a result, candidates struggled to fully understand what working at L.E.K. actually feels like.
Therefore, the brief focused on creating content that could:
Ultimately, the challenge was to shift from telling to showing—and make the talent journey easy to understand.
To achieve this, we produced an employer brand film centred on real experiences rather than corporate explanation.
Instead of describing the business, the film focuses on the moments that matter most to candidates.
Specifically, the story highlights:
By focusing on authenticity and clarity, the film brings the L.E.K. talent journey to life in a way that is both engaging and easy to relate to.
In addition, the film was designed to work across the full recruitment journey.
This ensures consistency and impact at every touchpoint, including:
As a result, L.E.K. now has a single, consistent narrative that supports talent attraction at scale.
As a result of the film, L.E.K. can now communicate its culture and career experience with far greater clarity.
The content helps candidates quickly understand:
Importantly, it transforms employer branding from abstract messaging into something real, relatable and memorable.
For consulting firms and professional services businesses, attracting the right talent is critical.
However, candidates no longer engage with generic messaging. Instead, they expect clarity, authenticity and proof.
This project demonstrates how an employer brand film can:
Most importantly, it shows that demonstrating real experiences is far more effective than simply describing them.
The films we have are enormously successful for the L.E.K Europe team. When the global marketing team saw the finished films, they commissioned us to make a new series of films for the US division.
”The project NRG created for us gained a huge amount of positive feedback, globally. The number of applications was also higher than ever.
